Zoloft

Zoloft is the medicine, which is available for the treatment of depression and different types of anxiety disorders. The Zoloft is approved by FDA for the treatment of depression, social anxiety disorder, posttraumatic stress disorder, panic disorder and obsessive-compulsive disorder. The generic Zoloft is available in the form of Sertraline tablets, which is used for major depressive mood in adults. The other form of Sertraline is the concentrated liquid, which is also used for major depressive mood and anxiety disorder. Zoloft treatment helps in chemical balancing of the brain, which is the cause of depression and anxiety.

Zoloft takes one or two weeks to show its effect. After that, few symptoms might start disappearing, but sometimes it takes 8 weeks also. It also depends on person-to-person that how the medicine works. Zoloft is available in the form of capsule of 25mg and is green in color, 50mg is light blue in color and 100mg is light yellow. They all are film coated and scored tablets. The other form of Sertraline is Zoloft, which is oral concentrated 20mg/mL solution without any color with menthol scent. Zoloft tablet can be taken through mouth with and without food. You need to take Zoloft once a day. For diluted Zoloft oral concentration, you can put ½ cup of water, lemon soda and orange juice, and mix them properly. On the other hand, you need to inform your doctor if you are allergic by latex. Even 18 years old person suffering from premenstrual dysphoric disorder, can use zoloft. Zoloft is also available for adolescent’s age 6-17 year old kids if they are suffering from OCD. If you are using Zoloft, your age should be over 15.



The common side effects of Zoloft are dry mouth, insomnia, sexual side effects, diarrhea, nausea and sleepiness. Beside these side effects if your lips, tongue or face get swelling, and you experience hives, high blood pressure, low blood pressure, and irregular heartbeat, you need to stop taking Zoloft. If you are facing any of this kind of side effects, then you need medical help.

Whenever you start taking Zoloft, you need to consult doctor, if you are using other medicine for depression treatment, such as Monoamine oxidase inhibitor that might harm you in the form of high body temperature, coma and seizures. If you are using Zoloft oral concentration along with disulfirma, then that will show a reaction, because Zoloft Oral Concentrate contains alcohol. If pregnant woman uses antidepressant medicines, these medicines affect newborn baby in the form of persistent pulmonary hypertensions, which make blood flow abnormal. This abnormality may cause sickness and death. If you are planning for baby or pregnant then you need to talk to your doctor. Never stop taking Zoloft suddenly, because it causes you withdrawal symptoms. Withdrawal symptoms are mental confusion, joint pain, dizziness, stomachaches, nausea and tremors. Withdrawal symptoms take 1or 2 weeks to disappear and sometimes it takes one month for complete recovering from Zoloft withdrawal. If you want to avoid such situation, you need to reduce dose slowly otherwise it will create a problem for you.
