Ultracet

Ultracet is used for the relief of pain. Acetaminophen has less potential to relieve the pain that enhances the effect of Ultracet. So the combination of both the medicines is used to handle from moderate to severe type of pain. Doctors also prescribe the medication for some other purposes that are not listed above.

You cannot take the medication if you have allergic reactions to Ultracet, or if you are taking the following drugs like alcohol, narcotic pain medicine, sedatives or tranquilizers, medicines for depression or anxiety, and drugs used for mental illness. Before taking the medication, inform your doctor if you drink more than three alcoholic beverages daily, or if you have a history of liver disease. The risk of seizures will be increased in people who have the following conditions. These conditions include a history of drug or alcohol addiction, history of head injury, metabolic disorder, history of epilepsy, have infection of brain or spinal cord like meningitis or encephalitis, if you are using an antidepressant, mood stabilizer, or another narcotic pain medicine, if you have taken an MAO inhibitor like isocarboxazid, phenelzine, rasagiline, selegiline, or tranylcypromine within past 14 days.



Tell you doctor in advance if you are allergic to any drugs or you have been a victim of kidney disease, liver disease, asthma or other breathing disorder, stomach disorder, if you have a history of depression, mental illness, or suicide attempt. In the presence of the above conditions, you cannot take the medication or you have to carry out special tests or manage special dosage during the treatment with Ultracet. The medication belongs to FDA pregnancy category C. It means that the medication is harmful to unborn baby and may cause severe or fatal side effects in a newborn. You should inform your doctor if you are pregnant or planning to be pregnant. The medication appears in the milk of nursing mother and it is harmful for a nursing baby, so if you are breast-feeding a baby then tell your doctor. The medication is not recommended for the children under age of 16 years.

Take the medication as prescribed to you by your doctor and don’t take larger amount of the medication or don’t use the medication longer then recommended to you by your doctor. You can get more information from the label instruction or you can take help from your pharmacist. You can include in your dose about 2 tablets and you can take about 8 tablets per day. Take each dose with water. You can also take the medication with or without food and it should be remembered to always take the medication at the same way each time. Whenever you have to stop the medication, you should first consult with your doctor because sudden stop of the medication can yield serious consequences, like hallucination, trouble sleeping, breathing problems, diarrhea, tremors, chills, anxiety, or sweating. You should reduce the dose slowly before stopping the medication.
