Triamcinolone
Triamcinolone acetonide is used for the treatment of cancer of the lymph nodes, hay fever, inflammation of bony projection at the end of long bone, inflammation of the envelope, inflammation of the tissue surrounding a tendon, inflammatory disorders like asthma, arthritis, severe allergic reactions, crohn's disease, and systemic lupus erythematosus. It is used to treat the condition in which adrenal gland produces natural steroid hormones insufficiently.Triamcinolone acetonide belongs to a class of medicine, called corticosteroids. Corticosteroids are hormones which are produced by adrenal glands, which have very important function for every part of body organ. The hormone affects heart muscles in order to maintain the rate of heart. It is helpful to control various type inflammation diseases.
Triamcinolone belongs to a class of drugs, called steroids which are used to reduce swelling and decrease immune response of the body. It is also used in the treatment of endocrine disorders in the condition when the body does not produce enough steroids. It is also helpful to control many immune and allergic disorders like allergic reactions, skin reactions, arthritis, bursitis, tenosynovitis, gout, lupus, psoriasis, asthma, ulcerative colitis, multiple sclerosis, Crohn's disease and others.
You should avoid taking the medication if you have serious bacterial, viral or fungal infection. If you have the following medical conditions like kidney disease, liver disease, high blood pressure, heart disease, hypothyroidism, psychiatric condition, osteoporosis, myasthenia gravis, or diabetes mellitus, then you should first consult with your doctor. In the above medical conditions, you are unable to take the medication or you need special dosage adjustment during the treatment. The medication belongs to FDA pregnancy category C which means that it is not known whether is harmful to fetus or not. If you are pregnant or planning to be pregnant then discuss with your doctor. The medication appears in the milk of nursing mother, so if you are breast-feeding a baby then tell your doctor.
Take the medication as directed to you by your doctor and if there is any difficulty to understand the instructions, then you should get help from your pharmacist. Take each oral dose of the medication with one glass of water or you can take the medication with or without food in order to lessen stomach upset. For taking the correct dose, you should have a measuring spoon.
If you miss a dose then take it as soon as you get remembered and if you don’t remember it till the next day then skip the missed dose and go back to regular scheduled doses. If you take more than one dose daily then if you miss a dose then take it as you remember and here you can take double at the same time. If you suspect overdose then get emergency medical help. The symptoms of overdose include obesity, increased hair growth, acne, bruising, increased blood pressure, and swollen hands, feet, or ankles.
If you experience the following side effects then get emergency medical help. It include difficulty in breathing, closing of the throat, swelling of the lips, tongue, or face, hives, sudden weight gain, pain, redness, or skin changes at the site of injection.
