Tenex
Tenex is used to treat high blood pressure and it belongs to a class of medicines called antihypertensive. Load is increased on the heart and arteries due to high blood pressure and if the condition continues for a long time then the heart and arteries cannot function well and it results in serious consequences like damage of blood vessels of brain, heart and kidneys, and the patient becomes a victim of stoke, heart failure, or kidney failure and it may also increase the risk of high blood pressure. These problems can be controlled if blood pressure is kept in control. The function of Tenex is to control the nerve vessels along certain nerve pathways which give relaxation to blood vessels, so that blood passes through the vessel easily. It is used to keep the blood pressure lower.If you have decided about taking the medication then first tell your doctor if you are allergic to Tenex or any other substance like foods, preservatives, or dyes. It is not known whether it is harmful to fetus, but it is important to discuss with your doctor if you are pregnant or planning to be pregnant. It is not yet studied that the medication appears in the milk of nursing mother or not, but those women who are breast-feeding a baby should inform their doctor before taking the medication. If you have other medical problems like heart disease, heart attack or stroke, liver disease, or mental depression, then these conditions can affect the function of the medication.
Take the medication as directed to you by your doctor and for more information, you should read the instruction on the label. Take the medication by mouth with food or without food and for better effects, you should take the medication at the some specific time daily. Use the medication even if you feel better and don’t try to miss any dose. If you miss a dose then take it as soon as you remember and if the time is near to take next scheduled dose then skip the missed dose and follow your regular scheduled doses. Place the medication at room temperature and away from heat and moisture.
You should make regular visits to your doctor in order to check the progress of medication. You should not suddenly stop to take the medication, but you need to reduce gradually the amount of dose. If there is any need to do surgery or emergency treatment then tell your doctor that you are taking Tenex. You should avoid drinking alcohol or other CNS depressants because the medication increases the effects of alcohol.
You can experience some side effects of the medication. The common side effects include constipation, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth, and tiredness. If the above side effects persist or become bothersome then meet with your doctor. You can also experience some severe side effects, which if occur, then get emergency medical help. These include rash, hives, itching, and difficulty in breathing, tightness in chest, swelling of the mouth, face, lips, or tongue, changes in heartbeat, inability to have sex, and pounding in the chest.
