Temovate
Temovate is used to relieve the itching and inflammation of moderate to severe skin conditions, while the scalp application is used for short time. It includes cream, ointment, emollient cream and gel. The medication contains a type of steroid which is only for external use. It is used to reduce itching, redness and other problems related with skin conditions. Its function is to decrease certain immune responses in order to reduce redness and itching of skin.You should avoid applying the medication if you are allergic to any ingredient of Temovate. Inform your doctor if you have the following medical conditions, like if you are pregnant or planning to be pregnant or if you are breast-feeding a baby, if you are taking any prescription or nonprescription medicines, if you have allergic reactions to any medicines, foods, or other substances, if you have measles, tuberculosis, chickenpox, shingles or have got vaccination recently, or if you have a skin infection. The medication is a strong corticosteroid and it can be absorbed into the bloodstream and can bring changes in the blood sugar.
Use the medication as directed to you by your doctor and for exact dosing, you should get help from the instruction on the label. Apply the cream on the affected area and then spread the medicine evenly on the surface. Wash your hands immediately after applying the cream. You should continue your treatment for at least two weeks. Don’t try to forget any dose and if you miss one, then take it as soon as you get remembered and if the time is near to take the next dose then skip the missed dose and follow your regular schedule of doses. You should not use more than 50 grams per week and always take care while applying the cream and avoid contact with eye. Avoid applying the cream for diaper rash. When you have to use the medication for children then assure the effectiveness and safety of the medication. If you are pregnant or planning to be pregnant then discuss with your doctor for the benefits and risk of using the medication.
You can experience the side effects of the medication and the common side effects are irritation and stinging. If these side effects continue or these become bothersome then contact with your doctor. You can experience the severe side effects which include rash, hives, difficulty in breathing, tightness in the chest, swelling of the mouth, face, lips, tongue, burning, itching, redness, skin thinning or discoloration, and swelling. If you experience these conditions, then you need to stop the medication and get emergency medical help from your doctor. You can also experience other side effects than those that are listed above.
There has been no overdose reported yet, but if you swallow then it may be harmful. Place the medication at room temperature between 20 and 25 degrees centigrade in a container which should be closed tightly.
