Sprintec is used to prevent pregnancy and ovulation. The medicine includes two ingredients ethinyl estradiol and norgestimate. Ethinyl estradiol works as estrogen while norgestimate works as a progestin and the combination of both ingredients are more effective than the single ingredient. The medication is also helpful to regulate menstrual flow. It is also used to treat problem of acne and other problems, relating female's hormone. These include chest pain, coughing up blood, dizziness, leg, arm or groin pain, severe or sudden headaches, stomach pain, vision or speech problems, weakness or numbness in the arms or legs, and sudden shortness of breath. There are some rare but serious side effects of the medication like breast tissue changes or discharge, changes in vaginal bleeding, increased in blood pressure, vaginal infection, tenderness in the upper abdomen, vomiting, yellowing of the eyes or skin, and increas in the blood sugar. If you experience any of the above symptoms then contact immediately with your doctor. Place the medication away from children and put at room temperature between 15 and 30 degrees centigrade.
