Remeron

Remeron is used to treat major depression. This depression is for long time and affects every step of life. The symptoms of depression include changes in appetite and weight, difficulty in sleeping, loss of interest in pleasurable activities, constant fidgeting or a slowdown in movement, fatigue, difficulty concentrating, suicidal thoughts, feelings of guilt or worthlessness, and slowed thinking. The function of the medication is to adjust the balance of the brain's natural chemical messengers, especially norepinephrine and serotonin. The medication comes in a class of drugs called tetracyclics and it is chemically not related to the antidepressants like serotonin reuptake inhibitors and MAO inhibitors.

You can take Remeron with food or without food, but the suitable is the evening time, before sleeping. You should use the medication even if you feel better or the symptoms of depression disappear. For better effects, the medication should be taken on daily basis. When you take Remeron SolTabs then keep your hand dried before removing the tablets from the blister pack, and place it on the tongue at once. Take the medication regularly and if you miss a dose than take it as soon as you get remembered. If the time is near to take the next scheduled dose, then skip the missed dose and follow your regular schedule doses. Place the medication at room temperature and in light resistant-container.



Side effects of Remeron could not be anticipated, but if you experience any side effects and they become intensified, then inform your doctor immediately. The common side effects include abnormal dreams and thinking, weakness, flu-like symptoms, dizziness, constipation, increased appetite, sleepiness, weight gain, and dry mouth. You should avoid taking the medication if you have ever got allergic reaction to Remeron or other similar drugs like ludiomil and desyrel and tell your doctor when you are taking the prescription. You should not take the medication if you are already taking antidepressants like nardil or parnate.

Remeron can interact with other drugs and foods, so you should tell your doctor if you are taking other drugs because this will increase, decrease or alter the effect of medication. It is important to consult your doctor if you are taking tranquilizers like valium, xanax and ativan. If you are pregnant or planning to be pregnant then tell your doctor at once and it is not known whether it passes into milk of nursing mother or not, but you should inform your doctor before taking the medication.

The starting dose of the medication should be equal to 15 milligrams and it will go on increase with 45 milligrams per day and the medication is not recommended for children. Don’t try to take double doses at the same time. If you experience overdose then get medical help immediately. The symptoms of overdose include drowsiness, impaired memory, mental confusion, rapid heartbeat. At the beginning of treatment, you will feel dizzy or light-headed especially while getting up from lying or sitting position, so be careful in first days of the treatment with Remeron.
