Premarin

Premarin is used to treat symptoms of menopause, like hot flashes, vaginal dryness, burning and irritation. Premarin is a mixture of estrogen hormones which is actually female sex hormone produced by ovaries. It is important for many functions in the body. It is also used to prevent osteoporosis in postmenopausal women. It is a replacement of estrogen in women if ovaries fail to work, or other conditions in which there is a lack of natural estrogen in the body.

If you have the following medical conditions, then you should avoid taking Premarin. The medical conditions include history of heart attack, stroke, or blood clot in the lung or lower body, abnormal vaginal bleeding, liver disease, uterine or hormone-dependant cancer. You should consult the doctor before taking the medication, if you are allergic to any drugs or you have high blood pressure, heart disease or circulation problems, endometrioses, liver disease, kidney disease, asthma, epilepsy or other seizure disorder, migraines, diabetes, underactive thyroid, high cholesterol, high or low levels of calcium in the body, systemic lupus erythematosus, and gallbladder.



Take the medication according to the prescription of your doctor and avoid taking the medication in larger amounts, and use it no longer than recommended by your health professional. Premarin should be taken on daily basis with one full glass of water. You should do physical exams and self-examine your breast on regular basis, while using Premarin. For better results, take the medication on regular basis. Premarin cannot cause harmful effects but you have to test your blood and thyroid function on regular basis. Place the medication at room temperature and away from heat and moisture, while the medicine container should be tightly closed.

There are some severe side effects of the medication. If you notice them, then you should contact with your doctor. It includes allergic reactions like swelling of the face, lips, tongue or throat, hives, difficulty in breathing. Don’t use the medication if you experience one of the following side effects like chest pain, heavy feeling, pain spreading to the arm or shoulder, nausea, sweating, general ill feeling, sudden numbness or weakness, headache, confusion, problems with vision, speech or balance, pain or swelling in the lower leg, migraine headache, pain, swelling or tenderness in the stomach, problems with memory concentration, jaundice, swelling of your hands, ankles or feet, and breast lump. There are other less severe side effects, but you should continue your medication. These side effects include mild nausea, vomiting, bloating, stomach cramps, breast pain, tenderness freckles or darkening of facial skin, increasing of hair growth, loss of scalp hair, changes in weight or appetite, problems with contact lenses etc.

Premarin vaginal cream is used to soothe irritated tissue in and around the vagina. The woman body sometimes produces less estrogen during menopause which makes the vaginal walls thin and less lubricated. As a result vaginal dryness, itching, and burning become common among women and also create problems during sexual activities. Premarin vaginal cream is the solution of all these problems.
