Persantine
Persantine
Persantine is used to reduce the formation of blood clots in the person who has got surgery of heart valve, and it is used in combination with blood thinners like coumadin. Some doctors prescribe Persantine with other drugs, like aspirin, which can help to reduce the damage due to the heart attack and prevent recurrence. It is used to treat angina and prevent complications during heart bypass surgery. It is a better option of doctors to prescribe Persantine with aspirin to provide better protection against the formation of blood clots, but you can experience negative aspect of taking both the medicines, which can be risk of bleeding. It is important to use amount of medications that are prescribed to you by the same doctor. If you want to take medication for pain or fever then extra aspirin should not be taken without consulting your doctor.You should take Persantine according to the prescription of your doctor and follow a regular schedule. You should take Persantine with empty stomach and a glass of water and if you experience that this will upset your stomach then drug should be taken with food or milk. If you miss a dose then you should take the medication as soon as you remember and if the time is near to next dose, then skip the missed dose and follow the regular schedule of medicine. Medication should be kept at room temperature and put away from excessive heat.
There is low risk of side effects of the medication and if you experience and it develops to severe condition, then you should consult with your doctor. The common side effects are abdominal distress and dizziness. You should not use the medication if you are allergic to Persantine or the ingredients which are included in the Persantine. You should go for a doctor who is aware of drug reaction that you have experienced. You should take the medication with special care if you have low blood pressure. Persantine can cause liver problems, like liver failure. If you experience any symptoms of liver trouble, nausea, drowsiness, itching, yellowish skin, flu-like symptoms and pain in the right upper part of abdomen, then do consult the doctor. Persantine can interact with other drugs and food and this will increase, decrease or alter the effect of Persantine. It includes Alzheimer’s drugs like aricept, cognex, exelon, aspirin, coumadin, adenosine, indomethacin, ticlopdine, valproic acid. If you are pregnant or planning to be pregnant then you should inform your doctor. This drug passes into milk of nursing mother and can affect nursing infant, so you should discontinue breastfeeding until you complete the treatment.
You can take a dose of 75 milligram to 100 milligrams four times a day and it is not recommended for the children under the age of 12 years. Overdosage of the medication can cause negative consequences like dizziness, feeling of warmth, flushing, low blood pressure, rapid heartbeat, restlessness, sweating weakness, so if you experience the symptoms then go for a doctor immediately.
