Pacerone is used to treat adults with the problems of serious irregular heartbeats, called ventricular arrhythmias. The medication has very serious side effects and it is used very rarely, especially in the condition when other medicine has not worked well. It is recommended that the drug must not be used if a person has a condition of heart block which makes your heart-beat very slow, with dizziness or light-headedness. The risk of taking this medication involves damage of lungs, liver damages and aggravating heart problems.

There are certain medicines which can interact with Pacerone, like antibiotics, azoles and macrolide antibiotics, lanoxin, the drugs which is used to control heartbeat such as quinidine, procainamide, disopyramide and phenyton, the drugs which are used to treat blood clots like warfarin, and the drug used in the treatment of high cholesterol. It also includes drugs that are used to treat high blood pressure like beta blockers and calcium channel blockers.

If you want to start the treatment then you should be admitted to hospital so that you could be monitored with the time. Your doctor will inform you how to take the medication, whether it should be taken with meal or without meal. Always take the medication at the same time and if you miss the dose then take the dose as soon as you get remembered and if the time is about to take the next dose then skip the missed dose and follow the regular schedule of your treatment. Always keep the medicines away from children and place the medication at room temperature and keep away from heat and moisture.
