Nizoral

The common name of Nizoral is ketoconazole and it belongs to the family of medications of antifungal. This medication is used to treat certain type of serious fungal infections and it is suitable for both internal and external fungal infections. Doctor may suggest the medication for other purpose and don’t try to stop the medication without the suggestion of your doctor. Doctor normally recommends Nizoral of 200 mg, once a day with a meal, and it depends on the bodyweight of the child. The length of this medication depends on the response of medication and it is normally suggested for a period of one week to 12 months. But be careful, if you take antacid then you must take Nizoral after the two hours of the dose of antacid.

There are several things which can affect the dose of medication of a person, like bodyweight. For other medical conditions, it is possible that your doctor suggest the medication that is opposite to those which are suggested frequently. Doctor first observes the condition then suggests the medication and you should not change the schedule without consulting your doctor. You must go according to the advice of your doctor and if you miss a dose, then take it as soon as possible if you get remembered. If the time is near for the next dose, then skip the missed dose and follow the routine schedule.



Nizoral come in white-to-slightly-grey with half –scored tablet and they are imprinted with “JANSSEN” with one side, while on the other side, “NIZORAL” is imprinted. It contains 200 mg of ketoconazole and the non-medicinal ingredients included in it are colloidal silicone dioxide, cornstarch, lactose, magnesium stearate, microcrystalline cellulose and povidone. Those patients should not use Nizoral, who are allergic to ketoconazole or any other ingredients which are included in the Nizoral. Those people who are going to be pregnant the people with lack of liver function, should consult the doctor before using it. There are also a list of medicines that should not be used with nazoril, which include cisapride, pimozide, astemizole, lovastatin, simvastatin, pravastatin, and terfenadine.

Nizoral cream is used to treat tinea pedis, tinea corporis and tinea cruris which are caused by T rubrum, T mentagrophytes and E floccosum, and it is used in the treatment of seborrheic dermatitis and cutaneous candidasis. It should be remembered that Nizoral should not be applied to eye infection and if you notice any irritation, then you should discontinue the cream. Experiments have shown that skin may experience some allergies, like contact dermatitis, which is associated with Nizoral cream due to the presence of sodium sulfite or propylene glycol.

Nizoral shampoo is used to treat fungal infections of your skin and is also suitable for sun fungus. The shampoo is used for dandruff and seborrheic dermatitis. You can take an amount of 5mL to 10mL on the hair and leave the leather for about three to five minutes. Then rinse your hair with water. Care should be taken while using the shampoo and keep away from the contact of eye.
