Lotrel

The generic name of lotrel is amlodipine and benazepril hydrochloride. Amlodipine is known as calcium channel blocker and its purpose is to make blood vessels relaxed, while benazepril makes blood flow smooth. The lotrel is prescribed for high blood pressure, because it is a combination of medicine and it is very useful when single medicine treatment fail to control the blood pressure. The purpose of the lotrel is to improve blood flow throughout your body and keep high pressure under control. Lotrel is available in the form of capsules with different strength, such as 2.5mg of amlodipine and10 mg benazepril, capsules containing 5mg of amlodipine and 10 or 20 mg of benazepril, and capsule containing 10 mg of amlodipine and 20 mg of benazepril. It means that it is available in the combination of amlodipine and benazepril, such as 2.5/10mg white color capsules with 2 gold bands, 5/10 mg light brown capsules with 2 white bands, 5/20mg pink capsules with 2 white bands, 5/40 light blue capsules with 2white bands, 10/20mg purple capsules with 2 white bands and 10/40mg dark blue capsules with 2 white bands.
