Loestrin
Loestrin
Loestrin is the best birth control pill and it is an oral contraceptive. It carries two types of female hormones, estrogen and progestin. The purpose of the Loestrin is to prevent pregnancy. Loestrin is available by the name of Loestrin 24 FE. You need to take one pill in a day and try to fix the time of your medicine. You can take pill on first day of the period or first Sunday after your period starts. In Loestrin, you can find 28–day birth control pill, which carries seven pills. These pills are available in the form of iron tablet or placebos. On the other hand, you can find 24-day birth control pill which helps in correcting your cycle. Whenever you use Loestrin, you need to use backup birth control for first week, such as condoms or spermicide.There are some conditions in which you need to consult your doctor, especially if you are pregnant or suffering from diabetes, migraine headache, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, gallbladder and seizures or epilepsy. In this condition, you would not be able to take Loestrin. Your doctor will settle your dose and keep you under observation during the treatment. Take your pills regularly. Otherwise if you miss the dose then pregnancy risk may increase. If you forget to take your pill, so try to take it as soon as possible or take two pills at the time of next dose. If you forget to take two pills in a week, then take two pills as soon as possible or two pills for two days after your missed pills. And, if you forget to take three pills in a week then you need to start new package. The new package should be start on 7th day after when you took the last pill. Besides this, you need to take backup birth control for 7 days of first month. During the treatment of Loestrin, try to avoid smoking because it will increase the risk of cardiovascular especially in women over 35.
There are some side effects of Loestrin in which you need medical help, which include allergic reaction, hives, swelling on your face, throat and lips. There are some side-effects in which you need medical help as well as you need to stop taking Loestrin. These side effects are sudden numbness or weakness to one side of body, headache, confusion, chest pain, nausea, low fever, loss of appetite, and problem in speech, vision or balance,. In these conditions, you need to contact your doctor. There are also some mild side effects in which you can continue Loestrin, such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, dizziness, break through bleeding and breast tenderness. These side effects will disturb you for first 3 or 6 months. If you do overdose of Loestrin by mistake, then you need medical help. In this case, you will feel overdose symptoms such as nausea, vomiting and vaginal bleeding.
