Hydrochlorothiazide
Hydrochlorothiazide is a thiazide diuretic (water pill) that helps to stop your body from captivating too much salt, which can cause fluid preservation. This decreases the volume of the blood, decreasing blood return to the heart and thus cardiac output and, by other mechanisms, is supposed to lower peripheral vascular resistance. Hydrochlorothiazide treats fluid retention (edema) in people with congestive heart failure, cirrhosis of the liver, or kidney disorders, or edema, caused by using steroids or estrogen. This drug is also used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension). Hydrochlorothiazide is marketed both as a generic medicine and under a large number of brand names, including: Apo-Hydro, Aquazide H, Dichlotride, Hydrodiuril, HydroSaluric, Microzide, and Oretic. Triamterene medicine is now only available in blend with another diuretic called hydrochlorothiazide.This medication is a gentle diuretic and blood pressure-lowering (antihypertensive) medication which lessens the potassium loss happening with its combined drug, hydrochlorothiazide. Avalide is a combination medicine used to cure high blood pressure. One component, irbesartan, belongs to a class of blood pressure medications that stops the hormone angiotensin II from toning the blood vessels, thereby allowing blood to flow more easily and keeping blood pressure low. Avalide is improbable to create side effects, and if any do happen, they are normally mild and provisional. Nevertheless, be sure to tell all side effects to your doctor as soon as possible. Side effects other than those listed here may also take place. Clinical studies of quinapril HCl/hydrochlorothiazide did not comprise adequate numbers of subjects aged 65 and over to determine whether they react differently from younger subjects. Other reported clinical experience has not recognized differences in responses between the old and young patients. In clinical trials with ACCURETIC, no unpleasant experience precise to the combination has been observed. Poor experiences that have happened have been limited to those that have been previously reported with quinapril or hydrochlorothiazide. Digoxin hydrochlorothiazide diuretics reduce potassium from the body. Low serum potassium can lead to digoxin toxicity, which can lead to cardiac arrhythmias that can be fatal. Toxicity can occur even at normal serum digoxin levels. Hydrochlorothiazide, though apparently harmless, does reportedly have some serious drug contacts. Blood uric acid levels can increase during the treatment with a rare occurrence of gout. Hydrochlorothiazide also decreases the kidney pus of lithium due to the rapid flushing of the kidneys and can cause lithium toxicity. There have been no harmless uses identified for pregnant women and children since the making of this medication.
